Privacy Policy
As a support group we care about the wellbeing of our members and therefore also highly value your data protection rights. This privacy policy aims to inform you about which information we collect, store, how it used and protected.
Elevate collects user data in three ways:
- A mailing list for an E-mail newsletter.
- A register at the monthly meetings.
- A website.
The Mailing List
Elevate uses the Mailchimp service to provide a subscription-based newsletter. Users sign up to this using a form provided by the website or an E-mail which has been forwarded on. The signup form includes a mandatory tick box to ensure users give their consent for Elevate to store their data and use it to send newsletters. The form also contains links to both Mailchimp’s and Elevate’s privacy policies.
Mailchimp stores the user’s data securely. It can only be accessed after a password-protected login. The project leader Robin Sansom has exclusive access to mailing list and will only use the details to send newsletters to the group. Mailchimp E-mails contain links which enable users to either unsubscribe or update their details on the mailing list.
Newsletters sent using Mailchimp do not display the E-mail addresses or names other subscribers.
Mailchimp’s privacy policy is at https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/
The Register
This is a list of names users handwrite on a list at the monthly meetings. It is purely for fire safety and to keep track of attendance numbers. The registers are therefore shredded after the meetings.
The Website
Contact Form
This collects a name, E-mail and any other details a website visitor chooses to share. There is a mandatory tick box for users to give consent for the handling of their data, and links to Elevate’s privacy policy.
The data is sent to Elevate’s E-mail inbox which is accessed only by the project leader Robin Sansom. The data is used solely for the purpose of replying to the message and any other purpose(s) stated by the website visitor. The data is deleted after it has fulfilled its purpose.
